Biographie

Cheng Pei-Pei (chinois : 鄭佩佩, 4 décembre 1946 – 17 juillet 2024) était une actrice surtout connue pour sa performance dans le film wuxia fondateur de King Hu, L'Hirondelle d'or, sorti en 1966. Ce rôle lui a valu d'être considérée comme l'une des premières stars féminines de films d'action. Elle a continué à incarner des expertes en maniement du sabre dans plusieurs films tout au long des années 1960. En 2000, elle revient sur le devant de la scène internationale avec son rôle de Jade Fox dans Tigre et Dragon d'Ang Lee. Elle enchaîne avec son interprétation de Long Po dans la mini-série télévisée Watery Moon, Hollow Sky, diffusée en 2004 sur la chaîne de télévision asiatico-américaine Paradise. Elle a travaillé pour Zhouyi Media en Chine continentale.
